DePuy ASR Hip Implant or Pinnacle Hip Implant Problems
DePuy Metal-on-Metal Hip Replacements
Two hip implant systems made by Johnson & Johnson have been recalled after reports that patients who received the metal on metal hip implants suffered adverse side effects. Johnson and Johnson’s artificial joint replacement company DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc. recalled the ASR Hip Resurfacing System and the ASR XL Acetabular System. The recall cited high failure rates that necessitated second surgeries. Within five years, one in eight patients who received an ASR hip implant needed a revision surgery, according to data provided.
DePuy Pinnacle Hip Implant
We investigate cases involving the DePuy Pinnacle metal-on-metal device. The Pinnacle hip implant has not been recalled, but problems associated with the device are reported to be similar to those suffered by patients who received the DePuy ASR hip implants. The problems associated with the Pinnacle device are similar to the injuries suffered by individuals with the DePuy ASR devices. Although the DePuy Pinnacle device has not yet been recalled, we are investigating cases involving the DePuy Pinnacle system.
